Ah, this answers my question on the last page. Although I have to say it sounds a bit unfair for new zombies to be judged the same as fully cognizant citizens – at least based on Sue’s earlier explanation.
Just wanted to give Sue and Kathryn some comment love. Most of your faithful commenters are occupied with the Selkie/Amanda crisis, which is IMHO understandable. I just wanted to say that I read both your stories avidly. (And I’m really curious about Carrotcake’s origin… was it radioactive fertilizer on a moonlit night that turned an ordinary vegetable into a superhero? 🙂 )
Not only an alien vegetable person, but one who had defeated other vegetable persons in an order eerily similar to a well know series involving alien fighters with food based names.
Almost as though it was a direct reference for the sake of comedy.
