It is a Selkie cameo, as a pixie. Sarnothi don’t exist in the SnK universe; closest equivalent are the Atlanteans like Flo. But Atlanteans don’t have hair and it would look even less like Selkie with no hair.
The in-universe explanation? I’d say that the producers of the Kathryn and Sue show, knowing that they would be doing an scene that takes place in an orphanage, stopped by the CCMO and asked who wanted to be depicted.
Or maybe there was an contest (“What would you like to see happen on the show”), and these four were among the winners. I’m still trying to decide which kid suggested “a giant talking super-carrot”.
I’d this is the case, I can easily see Selkie’s contribution being how Cartotcake goes evil, given her hatred of veggies :p
(And yes I know it’s not just hatred, but she DOES have a hatred of vegetables that directly stems from her biological actual inability to eat them.)
She almost looks like Selkie as a fairy. It’s really just the hair, though.
This comic’s tagged as “Sophie”, which is the name we’ve seen given to the human-in-Sarnothi-family AU Selkie. She’s a cameo all right. =)
And the bow. Mustn’t forget the bow.
BAD things happen when you forget the bow.

Although it appears this “Sophie” isn’t a carnivore … unless she plans on picking the meat toppings off her pizza and eating them.
That’s okay, AU Sophie was a reg’lr omnivorous hooman too. 😛
I love that Sandy is an elf or something in this verse. And the non-Sarnothi “Sophie”.
That would explain the lack of pluralses, too.

Isn’t the girl with the pompom hair a Selkie cameo, too?
Yep, they all are. Keisha and Tony as standard humans, Sandy as an elf, and Selkie translated into a pixie.
