i imagine that scien-magically a fairy’s egg can simply have all of the barebone key traits in the dna already, using the male extraspecial dna simply to supplement in dormant genes without reguard to input order, and simply discarding what it unused
And if they DO still exist, meaning that they still reproduce somehow… How have there been NO males in the last 700 years? That seems statistically improbable…
Even disregarding the explanation given later, there are at least a few species of animal where a similar situation could occur IRL. Some species of stick insect are parthenogenic, but still have males. An unfertilized female will only produce female offspring, so while the species could survive the death of all males and keep reproducing, there wouldn’t be any male young later on.
“Mister” Peppero? That’s “DOCTOR” Peppero to you, honeybunch!!!
(Note to Dave: I still think he must have picked up a doctorate somewhere… but only you know for sure! 🙂 )
Huston,we have a hypocrite. Over. Obviously wants to hurt Sue for being a vampire,is one. Is also very ugly.
Or wants to recruit Sue as a minion.
I don’t think that’s likely. Cuz I think she believes Sue is too stupid. 😐 I may be wrong. Probably.
http://selkiecomic.com/comic/selkie739/ based on lilian from selkie, dave loves his cameos XD
Holy crap, I just realized that! Maggie seems like Lilian’s polar opposite in terms of personality, though.
to quote selkie: “oh craps!!”
also: if the males have been extinct for ages, where the ‘crossed gender signs’ do new baby pixies come from – the fairy stork?!

Parthenogenesis.
Artificial insemination?
Or perhaps they are like the Reed Frog, and can change their gender in order to reproduce.
Oh, CRAPS indeed.
Dun
Dun
DUNNNNNNN.
Hey, I was gonna say that! 8)
I knew it was going to be Lillian’s face 2 strips ago.
Also… How do pixies still exist if all the males died off 700 years ago, and they only live 40 years?
Barring Undead shenanigans, of course.
And if they DO still exist, meaning that they still reproduce somehow… How have there been NO males in the last 700 years? That seems statistically improbable…
Again, I’ll suggest Artificial insemination. 🙂
