I think the imlication is that in this setting, Vampires are super zombies that are usualy but not always harmed by the su.
Anyway, I find it interesting that Sue apparently remembers her father. Previously we’d been led to believe that spontaneous reanimations’ don’t retain much.
Also, I’m not sure if Sue’s comment on her Dad’s aim should be taken as confirmation that he was abusive and/or responsible for her death.
The ‘practice session’ line amuses me because it could refer to fighting Henri’s dad as practice for fighting hers … or as practice for fighting Henri, should they ever decide to kick him out.
so…does she mean practicing how to dodge quickly or are we going to see some of those *awesome* vitamin-powers carrot taught her? cause if i remember correctly, she wanted to get back in shape concerning them…
I meant to post this here but put it in a previous update by mistake: It took me until tonight to figure out those were the protagonists parents and not the devils children, (sorry bringer of dawn) and the funny thing is this morning me and my mom were listen to a story and when the protagonist/narrator said “boiling over” metaphorically I figured out almost immediately that he meant with money and not with rage, I think it took my mom longer. Anyway I’m confused that Sue remembers here birth parents, I guess I was already thinking of the carrot guy being here parent. I would post more plot points here but it’s already pretty full.
“Still crap” guarantees for me what was already ringing alarm bells, Hendricks Senior was not a nice man. (I’m tentatively seconding the “this is actually Thomas Hendricks, who died and fell under the Bringer of Dawn’s domain” theory, though I suppose it’s possible to have summoned him without him being dead given how our protagonists got here.)
Not yet willing to weigh in on Pierre or the Tuttlestons, but let’s note that Mama Deathbunny is noticeably absent, suggesting that these are the real deal who have been for whatever reason convinced to fight their offspring, and she wouldn’t go for it under any circumstances. (Or if I’m remembering correctly – didn’t Henri get her blessing first? May be it’s just too hard to come up with a convincing reason then.)
So now I’ve got a lot of questions about the Tuttlestons, I don’t know about you guys.
Hmm – now that is true – Lucy could have summoned them from – wherever and said if they want to leave they have to defeat these little snots who totally deserve it, and then only showed them the times where our plucky protagonists screwed up.
….so I think another user’s theory on Sue might be correct now. DX
Hmmm. If she was a vampire before she was a zombie then she could theoretically be descended from a caveman. Or a baseball player.

They’re going to dodge in a way that makes Pierre and Thomas hit each other, aren’t they?
