yay for sue getting new toys, but my mind is on other things – how the *beep* is magnolia still able to handle her sword, since she´s definitely a vamp aka undead+evil?
….also, i´m a mite concerned that sue´s trip to hell obviously had lasting consequences. i wonder, what will happen if (when) she ever stays mad for more then a few moments?
Depending on the in-universe rules, it could be pretty easy. Sometimes just being close to silver is enough to irritate/harm undead & the sort, but sometimes it requires actual damage to be done (cutting/piercing) and even normal contact won’t do anything beyond touching any other metal. Plus, being fae initially might grant some extra immunity, and we don’t know ALL of her swords are silver, maybe the silver only comes out when things get real.
Now, if Sue was going to be extra prepared (and if this universe follows some older-school lore) then she’d want something iron as well (either a backup dagger/short sword, or even just a bunch of small projectiles) as iron is classically the one thing fae couldn’t handle (even could disrupt/grant some protection from spells & the like)
Admittedly she only knows about fuzzy right now, but she seems the sort who’d keep some iron knuckles in reserve, just for funsies.
“The even older rituals made the metal effective against ‘anyone with a black soul’. We stopped making those centuries ago when we realized the implications.”
“The very first fae silver artifact is a ring that made so the wearer ‘could not be killed by any man’. The bottom line is: just don’t rely too much on magic in combat.”
Hee hee hee. X3

The second made it so “none born of a woman” could harm the wearer. That one fell out of fashion with the invention of the C-section.
