LOL melodie obviously can´t lie to save her life….good thing the priestess doesn´t look all that shocked or upset, so i guess its not THAT much of a big deal after all?
If she already knows who the blade is going to, she probably already knows about most of the other stuff too:
1) Already being a regular customer, without any seriously problematic episodes
2) “Protection” from the goons & fighting them for trying to extort said “protection”
3) That there are children who need protecting (legit protection, this time) and that the blade would be assisting in that child/neighborhood protection
4) The jumping “not land-walking NOW” bit (the priestess has a solid sense of humor)
And, possibly 5) That there’s a vampire fairy with magic sword powers who any tall-folk would have a hard time dealing with, even with the right equipment.
I’m going to hope, from this reveal, that because of the circumstances around everything, they are more than happy to get some silver into the hands of this particular tall-folk.
nr 5 raises an interesting question – are the other fairies aware of magnolia but unable to stop her, and hope that sue will deal with her for them?
because i´m getting a mostly peaceful vibe from them – even soleil is more an annoyance than a real threat – so i doubt they´re happy that there´s a rogue pixie on a crazy genocidial trip out there
It’s kinda obvious that the blade will be going to a “Tallfolk” unless Sue was planning on getting a magical butter knife… it should have been obvious to Melody that since the weapon is a few feet long: ie. one that is many times larger taller than the various Fae Weapon-smiths that will be DOING the forging, so much so that it should have been easy for them to determine that at the very least… now, as to it being “OK” for them to go thru with making it… well, that as they say, is another story… i wouldn’t be surprised to see if there is a Geas of some sort involved in the forging such that it can’t be used by anyone that intends to do evil with it.

I’m pretty sure we’ve already seen bigswords being controlled by smallfolk — didn’t both Soleil and Magnolia have them?
Only Magnolia has the large sword. Soleil has a fencing foil.
…smooth Mel. Real smooth.
