Ah yes, never share the methods of how to make the sword. The monopoly on production must be maintained even if our civilization falls and no one is able to figure out how to make the item in question for literally thousands of years.
If there’s some kind of actual national-security reason for not sharing the info, then that’s different. But short of that, consider that it took the invention of computers and several software generations of CAD before the Antikythera Mechanism could be successfully remade. Or consider that we still can’t make proper Damascus Steel because our NANOTECHNOLOGY isn’t yet good enough.
I should not be this angry at fairies in a webcomic. I should probably go drink my coffee.
Not to mention Greek fire. But on the other hand, while knowing the secrets of those inventions would be cool, it’s also cool A) to know that the ancients, with their lower levels of technology, were still smart enough to make amazing stuff, and B) to have a mystery to work on solving.
I’m gonna be *really* upset if we keep reading about this sword and don’t get to find out how it’s made 🍆💩🍑
I’m sure a TV show with some sciencey-sounding music and a smooth voiceover will explain it.
